Marlo's Wake Up! Story
When I was nineteen years old, I was in a car accident where I was ejected from the car, head first through the windshield. This really shook up my world. As a matter of fact, it scarred up my face and made a slit directly in the middle of my third eye!
I realized I have a really hard head and I was lucky to be alive! I could have been but a mere splatter on the ground but by a twist of fate, I hit an electrical pole, ejected from the car head first into a small bundle of bushes on the sidewalk. This soft landing pad saved my life.
About a month later, I was in a second car accident where my head was stuck in the windshield and I almost lost my eye. Something was urging me to pay attention.
This was a blessing in disguise because I was rather lost in life up until that point. I began being fascinated with the mind. More specifically, what was inside my mind, behind my hard head, my thoughts, my motivations, my being. I wanted to know how my brain worked! I started to want to take control of my mind, my emotions, myself and my life. I got tired of myself and my own drama. I didn't want to waste anymore precious time and energy on unproductive thoughts or feelings. I wanted to be a victor not victim. I knew it was all in my mindset.
I read a book called, "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind," by Joseph Murphy and was amazed at how reading book after book about the mind, was affecting my mindset, my confidence and my life. I went to a psychotherapist for about a year, who would hypnotize me every session. Rippling effects coursed through my life where I was happy and moving forward in my life, in a meaningful way to me. He worked in concert with my physician, who set the theme for my life by teaching me to take control of my health, holistically. They taught me to make my own endorphins every day through exercise, protein in my healthy diet, journaling, amino acids and to see my counselor if needed.
I continued to realize that I was in charge of my mind and really cared about what I was feeding it. I became a big fan of Anthony Robbins, listening to his programs daily and eventually got to work for him when I moved to Los Angeles. Attending his events was like a dream come true to experience.
Tapping into my minds power allowed me to follow my dreams. In L.A. I pursued an acting and a music career, writing, recording and singing my original music and really enjoyed my time in L.A. I continue to write, sing and record.
After becoming a mother, I was searching for a tangible way to help people. Something truly solutions oriented and hypnotherapy was the answer. In 2010 I graduated from Hypnosis Motivational Institute, College of Hypnotherapy. I continued on to get certified in NLP through The Association of Integrative Psychology 3/31/16 and enjoy, everyday, growing and learning about the mind.
My life since has been an adventure for sure and focusing on my minds abilities has paid off in tangible ways.
